Floriana Veterans move up to second place

Floriana climbed to second place in the standings after registering an impressive 10–6 victory over Birkirkara St Helen’s in an entertaining and high-tempo encounter.
As the scoreline suggests, the match was open and fast-paced, with both sides creating numerous chances. Floriana ultimately proved more clinical, led by an outstanding performance from Bojan Kaljevic, who continued his fine form with four goals. Diego Fernando Pereira also made a significant contribution by completing a hat-trick, while Gilbert Scerri found the net twice. Dylan Grima added the final goal for the Floriana veterans.
Despite the defeat, Birkirkara remained competitive throughout the match. Federico Marine led their fightback with a hat-trick, while Herbert Spiteri, Jonathan Xerri and Daniel Scerri also got on the scoresheet. The match was officiated by referee Paul Apap.
In another fixture, Hibernians secured their third win of the season with a convincing 6–3 victory over Żurrieq Wolves. The Paola-based side’s victory lifted them to ten points in the standings, level with Gżira United.
Daniel Fodermayer was the star of the show for Hibernians, scoring a hat-trick, while Luke Satariano netted twice. Ilia Nazarov added another goal to complete the scoring for the Paolites. Żurrieq’s goals came courtesy of Kevin Vella, Alex Muscat and Mario Camilleri. The referee for this match was Mario Apap.
Meanwhile, two scheduled fixtures were postponed due to adverse weather conditions that affected the Maltese islands earlier this week. The matches between Rabat and Gżira, and MFPA against Luxol, will be rescheduled at a later date.
