Fgura United winger Nick Jr. Andrews enjoyed a moment of major recognition after collecting three prestigious individual awards at the end-of-season ceremony organised by the Liberian Football Association (LFA) for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 27-year-old attacking player, who can also operate as a central forward, was the standout figure of the evening, claiming the LFA First Division Player of the Year award — the highest honour presented at the ceremony. Andrews, formerly of Heaven Eleven, capped an outstanding season in Liberian football before making the move to Malta last summer.

In addition to the top individual accolade, Andrews also finished as the top scorer of the LFA First Division, underlining his attacking prowess throughout the campaign. He further completed a remarkable treble by being named in the LFA First Division Team of the Season for 2024/25.

Andrews joined Fgura United ahead of the current season following a highly productive spell with Heaven Eleven, who finished second in the Liberian top flight. An established Liberia international, Andrews has earned four senior caps for his country to date, scoring two goals at international level.

The winger made a promising start to life in Malta with Fgura United in the Challenge League, where his pace, movement, and finishing ability were quickly evident during his first campaign in the country. His performances in the opening weeks of the season suggested he would play a key role in Fgura’s attacking plans.

However, Andrews’ momentum was cruelly halted by injury. After featuring in the first five Challenge League matches, he suffered a serious setback in early November. The injury occurred after 34 minutes of Fgura United’s matchday five encounter against St Andrews FC, forcing the Liberian international off the pitch.

The injury proved severe, ruling Andrews out for the remainder of the season. He has since been undergoing a lengthy recovery process and remains sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation.

Despite the unfortunate injury, Andrews’ achievements in Liberia stand as a testament to his quality and consistency, while Fgura United will be hopeful of welcoming back one of their most talented attacking players once he regains full fitness.
