Everton boss Moyes Laments dropped points against Bournemouth

Everton manager David Moyes admitted his side only had themselves to blame after Tuesday night’s home defeat to Bournemouth.
The Toffees took the lead through Iliman Ndiaye’s penalty, but goals from Rayan and Amine Adli turned the game in the Cherries’ favour. Bournemouth struck twice before Jake O’Brien’s dismissal compounded Everton’s frustration.
Reflecting on the result, Moyes did not hide his disappointment.
“I’ve not got much to say, really. I’m disappointed,” he told evertontv.
“It’s a game we could have won, possibly. It looked as if we might have done. It was a bit scrappy at times, but I’m just disappointed that we gave away two really poor goals. We also missed two or three ourselves, so we’ve only ourselves to blame.”
Moyes felt his team made a positive start to the second half but lacked the cutting edge required to capitalise.
“I think just after half-time we started the second half well, but it’s only talk if you don’t score – and we’re not scoring enough.”
Despite the setback, Moyes praised his players’ overall effort and attitude.
“The players have done a great job here. The results and performances they’ve got themselves in the league have been really good, so no complaints at all over the spirit.”
