Ħamrun SC secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the European Beach Soccer Euro Winners Challenge 2026 after finishing top of their group with a perfect record of three wins from three matches.

In their final group fixture, the Maltese side defeated Portuguese outfit AD Nazaré B 2-1 in a closely contested encounter played in Nazaré, Portugal.

Nazaré took the lead through Manuel in the eighth minute of the opening period before William equalised for Ħamrun. The Maltese champions then found the winning goal through Antonello Demanuele. Despite sustained pressure from AD Nazaré B, Ħamrun held firm to register their third consecutive victory of the tournament.

The result confirmed first place in the group for Ħamrun SC, who now look ahead with confidence to their quarter-final challenge.

Meanwhile, it was a difficult day for Sliema Beach Soccer, who began their Euro Winners Cup campaign with a heavy 13-0 defeat against Falfala KQ BSC.

The Israeli side dominated proceedings from start to finish and established a three-goal advantage in the opening period through A. Omry, H. Jabareen and Mauricinho. In the second period, Falfala extended their lead with goals from A. Karam, Thanger and another from Jabareen.

The final period saw the opposition add six more goals through Thanger (two), Jabareen, A. Omry, Mauricinho, S. Moreb and Amer Yatim to complete a comprehensive victory.

Sliema will now be aiming to put this setback behind them quickly as they turn their attention to their second match, which will be played today against Viareggio.
