England to take on New Zealand and Costa Rica in pre-World Cup friendlies

England will face New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida this June as part of their build-up to the 2026 World Cup, the Football Association confirmed on Wednesday.
Thomas Tuchel’s squad is scheduled to take on New Zealand on June 6, followed by a clash with Costa Rica on June 10. Exact venues will be confirmed at a later date.
England last met Costa Rica in a 2018 friendly victory and also drew 0-0 against them at the 2014 World Cup. Meanwhile, New Zealand, who have also qualified for the 2026 tournament, last played England in 1991, losing two friendlies in Auckland and Wellington.
At the 2026 World Cup, which begins on June 11, England will compete in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
