England manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will be reaching out to players who have recently been left out of the squad to guide them on how to regain contention ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Several notable names, including Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Everton’s Jack Grealish, were omitted from this month’s qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, while Jude Bellingham missed October’s matches against Wales and Latvia.

England secured a 2-0 home win over Serbia and followed it up with a 2-0 victory in Albania on Sunday, finishing top of Group K in World Cup qualifying. Remarkably, they won all eight games without conceding a single goal.

“First of all, it’s my job now to make contact with everyone—players like Trent,” Tuchel told reporters after the Albania match.

“Players that are on our long list—55, 60 players—I need to reach out to them, be in touch, explain why they were not selected. Explain what they need to do, where they can improve. Is it something they can influence, or just a decision? That’s my job over the next weeks and months.”

Tuchel said he prefers face-to-face discussions to better assess players’ responses and is open to visiting club training grounds for group sessions.

“We can do group visits. We can do Jude and Trent, visit the clubs. And some of them we will call,” the 52-year-old added.

England will hold another training camp during the international break in March before Tuchel names his squad for the World Cup, scheduled from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
