Dušan Vlahović weighing Juventus future as Europe’s top clubs circle

Dušan Vlahović has been heavily linked with moves to FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid this week, yet fresh indications suggest his chapter at Juventus may not be closed after all.
The Serbian striker is entering the final months of his contract in Turin, and speculation surrounding his next destination has gathered pace over the past six months. Unless a renewal is agreed, he will become one of the most high-profile free agents available this summer.
Barcelona’s interest comes amid uncertainty over the future of Robert Lewandowski. With the veteran forward expected to move on, the Catalan giants are assessing cost-effective attacking reinforcements. A player of Vlahović’s calibre potentially available without a transfer fee represents a market opportunity that is difficult to overlook.
Atlético Madrid have also emerged as serious contenders. Doubts persist over the long-term outlook of Julián Álvarez, while Alexander Sørloth has drawn widespread interest following an impressive campaign. Strengthening the forward line remains a priority in the Spanish capital.
A switch to the Premier League cannot be ruled out either. Newcastle United and Chelsea FC are among the sides closely monitoring developments, prepared to accelerate their interest should Vlahović officially hit the open market.
However, the narrative in Turin appears to be evolving. With head coach Luciano Spalletti reportedly close to committing his future to the club, there is growing belief that Vlahović could soon be offered renewed talks regarding his own contract.
Sources close to Juventus indicate the club are increasingly reluctant to sanction the departure of the 26-year-old, particularly during a period in which alternative attacking options have lacked consistency. A reassessment of his role within the squad is said to be underway.
Vlahović, who is nearing a return from injury, remains open to staying and is determined to finish the season strongly. He has registered six goals and two assists across all competitions so far this term, and there is confidence internally that he can still produce a decisive run of form.
Financial considerations will inevitably play a role. His current €12 million-per-season salary would likely require adjustment in any renewal agreement. Nevertheless, the possibility of an extended stay in Turin remains firmly on the table.
For now, Vlahović’s future is finely balanced — and Europe’s elite may have to wait a little longer to discover whether one of the summer’s most coveted forwards will truly be available.
