Dortmund compound Copenhagen’s struggles in latest October setback

Borussia Dortmund maintained their perfect head-to-head record against FC Copenhagen, making it five matches unbeaten with a 4–2 victory at Parken Stadium in the UEFA Champions League.
The German side have been prolific in front of goal this season in Europe, and despite a sluggish start in Denmark, they once again showed their cutting edge. Dortmund’s opener came from a moment of individual brilliance, as Felix Nmecha danced past Elias Achouri on the edge of the box before smashing a superb strike into the roof of the net.
Maximilian Beier missed a golden opportunity to double the lead, and Dortmund were punished shortly after the half-hour mark in bizarre fashion. A rebound from Youssoufa Moukoko’s shot — saved by Gregor Kobel — ricocheted off Ramy Bensebaini and then Waldemar Anton before ending up in the back of the net for an unfortunate own goal.
Buoyed by that slice of luck, Copenhagen finished the first half on top, with Junnosuke Suzuki going close to putting the hosts in front before the break.
After halftime, Dortmund gradually regained control. On the hour mark, Lukas Lerager tugged at Serhou Guirassy’s shirt inside the box, leaving the referee little choice but to award a penalty. Bensebaini made amends for his earlier misfortune by confidently converting from the spot, maintaining his flawless career record from 12 yards.
As Copenhagen pushed forward, gaps began to appear. Nmecha capitalized again in the closing stages, bagging his second goal of the night to make it 3–1. Substitute Fabio Silva then added a fourth to seal the win for Niko Kovač’s men.
Viktor Dadason grabbed a late consolation for the Danes in stoppage time, but it did little to dampen Dortmund’s celebrations as they continued their unbeaten start to this season’s Champions League.
For Copenhagen, the defeat extends their winless streak to four matches in all competitions — their longest since March — and ends a run of four consecutive European home games without defeat.
