Denmark have confirmed two June friendlies, taking on African World Cup hopefuls DR Congo before facing Ukraine, the Danish FA has announced.

The Danish national team will meet DR Congo in Liège, Belgium on 3 June, before returning home to host Ukraine in Odense four days later.

Head coach Brian Riemer explained that the fixtures form part of an ongoing rebuild, as the squad adapts following a significant generational transition ahead of the Nations League and the 2028 European Championship.

“We are working on shaping a new team after a major generational shift. It’s important the players spend more time together and build stronger connections,” Riemer said.

“The best way to do that is by testing ourselves against strong opposition, which we will face in these two matches. Hopefully, we will also have most of our squad available.”

Denmark will use these games as preparation after missing out on qualification for this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
