Leeds United came from two goals down to secure an impressive 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, extending their strong run of form to just two defeats in their last 13 Premier League matches (W4, D7).

Chelsea, winless in their previous three midweek league fixtures this season (D1, L2), were eager to make a fast start on home turf. However, Leeds began confidently, with Brenden Aaronson forcing Josh Acheampong into a rash challenge as he threatened to break through on goal.

Despite that early warning, it was the hosts who struck first in the 24th minute. Cole Palmer threaded a perfectly weighted pass into the path of João Pedro, who showed composure to lift a delicate finish over the advancing Karl Darlow.

Chelsea pushed to build on their advantage before the interval but were unable to add a second. Darlow comfortably dealt with a tame Palmer effort, while Pedro squandered a good opportunity by dragging wide from inside the area.

The Blues resumed after the break intent on tightening their grip on the contest, with Estevão firing narrowly off target. Their pressure paid off soon after when Jaka Bijol needlessly shoved Pedro inside the box, allowing Palmer to confidently convert his third penalty in four days.

Leeds, though, refused to wilt. Less than 10 minutes later, they were handed a lifeline when Moisés Caicedo tripped Jayden Bogle in the area. Lukas Nmecha stepped up and coolly sent Robert Sánchez the wrong way from the spot.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the visitors’ favour, and they drew level in the 73rd minute. Slack defending from Chelsea enabled Nmecha to square for substitute Noah Okafor, who tapped home from close range.

Stunned by conceding twice in six minutes, Chelsea pressed for a late winner. Pedro Neto came agonisingly close when his inswinging cross drifted inches past the far post, but Leeds continued to pose a threat on the counter.

In stoppage time, Palmer had a golden opportunity to snatch all three points but somehow fired wide from close range with the goal at his mercy. The miss proved decisive, as Leeds held on to deny Chelsea a fifth consecutive Premier League victory.
