Chelsea Manager Maresca Receives One-Match Touchline Ban for Misconduct During Liverpool Victory

Chelsea’s late winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time sparked wild celebrations from manager Enzo Maresca, who sprinted along the touchline at Stamford Bridge to celebrate with his players. His exuberant display earned him a second yellow card, resulting in a dismissal by referee Anthony Taylor.
“The manager was alleged to have acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive or insulting words or behavior during the match, which led to his dismissal around the 96th minute,” the FA said in a statement.
Maresca admitted the charge and accepted the standard penalty.
As a result, he will miss Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture, an away game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Chelsea currently sit seventh in the table with 11 points, five behind league leaders Arsenal.
