Chelsea Confident Enzo Fernandez Will Stay Amid Real Madrid Interest

Chelsea FC remain hopeful that Enzo Fernandez will stay beyond the summer, even as interest from top European clubs continues to grow.
The Argentina international has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City.
However, sources suggest there is uncertainty at Stamford Bridge about whether any of those clubs will submit an offer that meets Chelsea’s valuation.
The transfer fee is a key factor, with Fernandez having joined for £106.8 million. Chelsea would only consider selling if they receive a bid exceeding that amount.
At present, there is little belief within the club that suitors will meet that price. Chelsea are not keen to sell and are increasingly determined to avoid a major squad overhaul this summer, especially after an inconsistent season.
Holding on to Fernandez is seen as crucial to preserving a strong core of players who can develop under new management.
This week’s managerial change has added a fresh layer to Chelsea FC’s hopes of keeping Enzo Fernandez at the club.
Under Liam Rosenior, Chelsea’s performances declined, and Fernandez’s influence dropped with them. The midfielder also faced a suspension after openly stating a desire to live in Madrid—comments that fueled speculation about a potential move.
Rosenior’s dismissal on Wednesday, however, has shifted the mood.
Chelsea are now targeting a manager with strong tactical identity, authority, and experience to rebuild the team. Internally, there is confidence that the arrival of a respected figure could reinvigorate Fernandez and restore his central role in the squad.
Interest from Europe’s top clubs remains genuine. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain continue to monitor the situation, while Manchester City are also emerging as a potential contender.
City’s interest could intensify if Enzo Maresca—formerly linked with Chelsea—is appointed as successor to Pep Guardiola this summer.
Despite this, Chelsea maintain that a departure is far from imminent. Only an exceptional “mega” offer would prompt serious reconsideration.
That stance is reinforced by moves to stabilise the midfield, including Moises Caicedo signing a new seven-year deal. Ideally, the club would also like Fernandez to commit his long-term future.
Keeping that midfield partnership intact is viewed as vital as Chelsea aim to recover from a difficult spell and build a more stable, competitive side going forward.
