Brazilian Football Confederation announced on Thursday that head coach Carlo Ancelotti has signed a new four-year contract extension, keeping him in charge of the Brazilian national team until the 2030 World Cup.

The agreement comes one year after the Italian manager took over in Brazil in May 2025, and just weeks before the start of the 2026 World Cup.

“A year ago, I arrived in Brazil and realised what football means to this country. We are working to bring the national team back to the top of the world, but both the CBF and I want more,” Ancelotti said.

“We are very happy to announce that we will continue together until the 2030 World Cup.”

Since taking charge, Carlo Ancelotti has overseen 10 matches with the national team, recording five wins, two draws and three defeats. During his tenure, Brazil have scored 18 goals while conceding eight.

Brazilian Football Confederation president Samir Xaud described the contract extension as a “historic day,” stressing that retaining the coaching staff is part of a long-term strategy for the future of Brazilian football.

“This renewal is another important step in our commitment to provide the national team with an increasingly strong, modern and competitive structure. We are working to keep Brazil at the highest level,” he said.

The new agreement guarantees Ancelotti a full cycle in charge leading up to the next World Cup.
