Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s climbed to the top of the BOV Challenge League standings after registering a 2–0 victory over Melita at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Leo Agius gave the Saints an early advantage after just four minutes, and Yusuf Abdullahi Sulaiman sealed the win with a second goal on 66 minutes.

At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, St. Andrews joined Melita in fourth place following a dramatic 2–1 win over Marsa. Marsa took the lead on 78 minutes through David Machado, but St. Andrews responded immediately as Caua levelled the score a minute later. Duvan Mosquera then struck the winner deep into stoppage time, three minutes into added time.

In another encounter at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Swieqi United defeated Pietà Hotspurs 3–1. Kian Leonardi opened the scoring on 33 minutes, while Matthew Debattista doubled Swieqi’s lead five minutes into the second half. Leonardi made it 3–0 on 74 minutes from the penalty spot, before Emmanuel Bio pulled one back for Pietà three minutes from time.

Meanwhile, Sirens edged past Mġarr United 3–2 at the Centenary Stadium. Thiago Nonato put Sirens ahead on nine minutes, with Trezeguet Zammit doubling the advantage on 16 minutes. Jurgen Debono reduced the deficit for Mġarr on 62 minutes, but Hafiz Mohammed Akadom restored Sirens’ two-goal cushion on 72 minutes. Cristhyan scored Mġarr’s second goal eight minutes from time, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Following these results, Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s lead the standings with 24 points, ahead of Balzan on 23 and Fgura United on 21. Melita and St. Andrews are level on 19 points, followed by Sirens and Swieqi United on 17. Gudja United have 16 points, while Mġarr United and Pietà Hotspurs sit on 14. Santa Lucia and Żurrieq share 12 points, Vittoriosa have nine, Marsa six, Żebbuġ one, and Mtarfa remain bottom on minus three points.
