BOV Amateur League I Update: Attard pull clear, Qormi stay close
Attard secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Pembroke Athleta at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, re-establishing a three-point lead at the top of the BOV Amateur League I standings.
Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo put Attard ahead just before halftime. Nicholas Schembri doubled the advantage in the 71st minute before Kyle Sciberras Balbi pulled one back for Pembroke eleven minutes from time, setting up a tense finish.
In the night’s other fixture, Qormi dominated Luqa St. Andrew’s with a decisive 4-0 win. Innocent John Awori scored a quick brace in the 22nd and 24th minutes, followed by second-half goals from Ayrton Azzopardi and Cadu.
League Standings: Attard leads with 24 points, followed by Qormi (21), Mqabba (19), and Qrendi (18).
