A weekend of contrasting fortunes saw Attard extend their perfect start, Mqabba and Qrendi keep pace near the top, while several sides continued to struggle for consistency across a competitive Matchday 4.

Attard 2–1 Victoria Hotspurs

Attard maintained their flawless record with a fourth straight victory, edging past Victoria Hotspurs at the Centenary Stadium. The Gozitan side struck first through Kurt Borg after just seven minutes, but Attard grew into the match and equalised on the half-hour mark thanks to Precious Nwankwo, who proved dangerous throughout the opening half.

Victoria’s hopes took a blow when Karl Micallef was sent off early in the second half. Attard capitalised on the numerical advantage, scoring the winner on 75 minutes through Jayden John Bonanno, whose first-time strike sealed the comeback. The Hotspurs had a late goal disallowed for offside, while both goalkeepers produced key saves in the closing stages.

Attard now lead the standings with maximum points, while Victoria suffer a second consecutive setback.

Lija Athletic 0–1 Mqabba

Mqabba continued their impressive start with a narrow but deserved win over Lija Athletic at the Mosta Ground. In a match with few clear chances, Cedric Gaoue produced the moment of quality needed, firing a superb top-corner finish on 41 minutes.

Lija’s best opportunity came just before half-time when Kyle Debono forced a brilliant save from Mario Bartolo, but their search for a first win of the season continues. Mqabba, meanwhile, remain unbeaten and firmly in the promotion race.

San Gwann 1–2 Qrendi

Qrendi registered a valuable victory in a lively encounter against an injury-hit San Gwann side. Joseph Ogunnupe scored early and later netted a brilliant individual winner on 56 minutes, either side of Ryan Muscat’s equaliser for the Saints.

San Gwann pushed hard for another equaliser, coming close through Matteo Vella, but Qrendi threatened on the counter and even struck the crossbar via Brandon Bray. Qrendi’s efficiency in front of goal ultimately proved the difference.

Senglea Athletic 0–2 Żejtun Corinthians

Żejtun produced a disciplined display to earn their second win of the season, defeating Senglea at the Sirens Stadium. Fabrizio Zammit finished off a fast counterattack on 27 minutes before Clyde Bouvet sealed the result with a cool finish inside the area late on.

Senglea created several chances—including efforts from Rees Demicoli, Ogechukwi Olahewe, and Timmy Thomas—but lacked precision in the final third. Żejtun climb up the standings, while Senglea continue their hunt for a first league win on the pitch.

Luqa St Andrew’s 0–3 Mellieħa

Mellieħa dominated the second half to secure a convincing win over Luqa St Andrew’s, with all goals arriving after the break. Alex Sander headed in a Vitinho free-kick to start the scoring, before Alexander Akl doubled the lead following a defensive mix-up. Sander added his second and Mellieħa’s third on 72 minutes.

Luqa had several early chances but faded once the deficit grew, with Mellieħa well worth the three points.

Pembroke Athleta 0–0 Kirkop United

The weekend’s only goalless match saw Pembroke and Kirkop share the spoils in a largely uneventful encounter. Chances were scarce, though Pembroke’s Kyle Sciberras-Balbi and Kirkop goalkeeper Miguel Falzon were involved in the few key moments. Both sides remain winless, with Pembroke still struggling for attacking output.

Xgħajra Tornados 1–2 Qormi

Newly appointed coach Clive Mizzi celebrated a winning start as Qormi claimed all three points in their late Sunday fixture. Dale Mifsud opened the scoring early before missing a penalty, but Neil Tabone converted a second spot-kick to give Qormi a 2–0 half-time lead.

Xgħajra improved after the break, pulling one back through Shaban Chikh Ali, but Qormi held firm to return to mid-table and begin a new chapter under Mizzi with momentum.
