Boga continues fine run of form to fire Juventus to victory over Udinese

Juventus FC climbed into the top four of Serie A with a narrow 1–0 victory away to Udinese Calcio, as Jeremie Boga continued his impressive scoring run. The result also marked the Bianconeri’s fourth successive away league win against Udinese without conceding a goal.
Under the guidance of Luciano Spalletti, Juventus arrived in Friuli looking to build on last week’s emphatic victory that ended a four-match winless league run. Despite dominating possession early on, the visitors initially struggled to break down an Udinese defence that had conceded just five first-half goals at home in the league this season.
Juventus’ first clear opportunity came when Boga burst down the left channel and fired from a tight angle, but Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye reacted well to keep the effort out.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 38th minute. Defender Lloyd Kelly—who had earlier set up Boga’s chance—again played a key role, releasing Kenan Yıldız down the left flank. The Turkish youngster delivered a composed square pass into the box, allowing Boga to tap home his third goal in as many matches.
Juventus have been particularly strong away from home after opening the scoring this season, avoiding defeat in each of their previous eight such league matches. They threatened to double their lead before half-time, with Okoye producing excellent saves to deny both Boga and Andrea Cambiaso, the latter striking a powerful half-volley after Udinese failed to clear a corner.
The hosts, coached by Kosta Runjaić, offered little attacking threat before the break but missed a golden chance to equalise shortly after the restart. Mirroring Juventus’ goal, Keinan Davis squared the ball from the left to Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, yet the Dutch midfielder somehow steered his effort wide with the goal gaping.
That miss nearly proved costly moments later. Okoye was forced into another save to deny Manuel Locatelli, while Teun Koopmeiners headed over as Juventus continued to push for a second goal.
The visitors thought they had sealed the game with 20 minutes remaining when Francisco Conceição found the net, but the strike was ruled out after Koopmeiners was deemed offside and obstructing the goalkeeper’s view.
Okoye kept Udinese in the contest late on with a brilliant stop to deny Fabio Miretti following a slick Juventus move. Nevertheless, the Bianconeri held firm to secure a ninth victory in their last ten meetings with Udinese.
The result lifts Juventus above Como 1907 and AS Roma ahead of their clash on Sunday, while Udinese remain stuck in mid-table. Their inconsistent campaign continues, with this defeat marking their 10th in 16 matches against sides currently occupying the top half of the table.
