Talk of Victor Osimhen emerging as a summer target for Bayern Munich has intensified in recent days, though the substance behind the speculation remains open to debate.

The 27-year-old Galatasaray S.K. striker has been in impressive form, scoring 10 goals in the Super Lig and adding seven more in the Champions League. That return has reignited suggestions he could secure a move back to one of Europe’s elite clubs this summer.

Recent reports claim Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany is an admirer of Osimhen, with internal discussions said to have touched on the possibility of reshaping the club’s forward line. Some have even suggested the German champions could consider moving on from 32-year-old Harry Kane to facilitate a change in profile up front.

However, well-placed sources remain sceptical that Bayern are actively looking to part ways with Kane. There is a strong belief within the game that suggestions the Bundesliga giants want to move on from the England captain are wide of the mark at this stage.

That does not mean Osimhen would not interest Bayern should circumstances shift. But as things stand, the priority in Munich is to extend Kane’s stay, with discussions over his long-term future understood to have already begun. Kane is open to remaining, and the club are keen to secure stability around their talisman.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray in a €75 million deal and is under contract until 2029. There has been no indication from the Turkish side that they would be willing sellers, and any potential move would require a significant financial outlay. The Nigerian international also ranks among the highest-paid forwards in European football.

He has additionally been linked with Paris Saint-Germain F.C., while interest from Saudi Arabia has circulated in transfer circles. Although Osimhen is understood to have settled well in Istanbul following his move from Napoli, the opportunity to join a club of Bayern’s stature at 27 would naturally hold appeal.

Kane, meanwhile, continues to attract attention of his own. Reports have pointed to admiration from FC Barcelona, along with potential options in England and Saudi Arabia should he ever consider a departure. Those close to the striker insist that sporting ambition, rather than financial considerations, will ultimately guide his decision.

For now, much hinges on Kane’s ongoing contract talks. Only if that dynamic changes is Osimhen likely to become a concrete option for Bayern — rather than simply a name under consideration.
