Barcelona reignite interest in Manchester City striker Erling Haaland

The speculation linking Erling Haaland with a move to Spain refuses to die down, with Barcelona once again reportedly showing interest in the Manchester City striker.
Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has been a vocal supporter of pursuing Haaland, fueling renewed chatter about a potential transfer. Longstanding interest from both Barcelona and Real Madrid is well-known within City’s hierarchy, but securing a deal remains a daunting challenge.
While Haaland could theoretically see himself at one of Spain’s top clubs, current indications suggest Barcelona may be slightly ahead of Real Madrid in positioning themselves for the Norwegian star.
Sources close to City, however, stress that this does not mean a move is imminent. Haaland is under contract until 2034 and remains focused on Manchester City’s current campaign.
Two main factors could influence his thinking in the future: a lack of major trophies for City this season, and the potential departure of Pep Guardiola, whose contract runs until 2027. If either scenario materializes, Spain’s top clubs could become a more enticing option.
For now, Haaland’s attention is on Manchester City and the upcoming World Cup, making a blockbuster transfer in the next window highly unlikely.
