Luis de la Fuente has named in-form Joan Garcia in his 27-man squad, with the Spain national football team including four debut call-ups for their upcoming friendlies later this month.

The European champions continue their preparations for the World Cup with fixtures against Serbia national football team on March 27 in Villarreal, followed by a clash with Egypt national football team four days later.

The Serbia match replaces the planned Finalissima against Argentina national football team, which was cancelled due to the Middle East conflict. Meanwhile, the Egypt friendly has been relocated from Qatar to Barcelona for the same reason.

Joan Garcia has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season since his move to Barcelona from city rivals Espanyol.

He did, however, suffer an injury scare this week after being replaced late on by Wojciech Szczesny during Barcelona’s 7–2 Champions League win over Newcastle United.

Also earning their first senior call-ups are Cristhian Mosquera of Arsenal, Ander Barrenetxea of Real Sociedad, and Victor Munoz of Osasuna.

Nico Williams remains sidelined through injury, while Gavi also misses out after making only a brief return appearance for Barcelona following a serious knee injury.

Spain national football team are among the favourites for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, where they will face Uruguay national football team, Cape Verde national football team and Saudi Arabia national football team in Group H.

Spain national football team coach Luis de la Fuente has named his full squad for the upcoming international friendlies, selecting a balanced 27-man group featuring established stars and several new faces.
