Balzan take Lead in BOV Challenge League After 2-0 Win

Balzan have climbed to the top of the BOV Challenge League standings after securing a 2-0 victory over St. Andrews at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday. Forward Oluwatobiloba Dimeji Awosanya was the hero of the match, scoring both goals in the 53rd and 87th minutes.
In other Saturday fixtures:
- Birzebbuga St. Peter’s missed out on crucial points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Vittoriosa Stars at the Centenary Stadium. Paul Lapira’s 23rd-minute goal for Birzebbuga was canceled out by a late own goal deep in stoppage time.
- Melita delivered a commanding 4-1 win against Zebbug Rangers at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Goals from Eric Mensah, Karl Mohnani, Jesus Yepez, and Benjamin Cassar secured the comfortable victory.
- Gudja United edged out Sirens with a narrow win at the Centenary Stadium, thanks to a decisive goal from Cesar Paiber just two minutes before full time.
League Standings:
Balzan now lead the league with 29 points. They are closely followed by Birzebbuga (28), Melita (25), Fgura (22), Sirens (20), and Gudja (20).
