Attard returned to winning ways with a convincing 2–0 victory over Luqa St. Andrew’s in the BOV Amateur League I, as Saturday’s action at the Sirens Stadium produced important results across the division.

The match was decided by Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo, who struck twice in the first half to seal the three points for Attard. The forward opened the scoring on 27 minutes before doubling his tally shortly before the break on 43 minutes, ensuring a comfortable afternoon for his side.

Meanwhile, Victoria Hotspurs edged out Kirkop United in a five-goal thriller. Karl Micallef gave the Hotspurs an early lead after just seven minutes, but Seydna Dicko restored parity on 37 minutes. The Gozitans regained control in the second half through goals by Rondinely on 58 minutes and Kurt Borg on 71 minutes. Dicko reduced the deficit once more five minutes later, but Victoria held on to secure a valuable 3–2 win.

Friday’s fixtures at the Centenary Stadium also carried significance in the standings. Qormi registered a hard-fought 2–1 win over Senglea Athletic, with David Emmanuel Garba breaking the deadlock on 61 minutes. Jack Zammit levelled the score for Senglea on 72 minutes, but Ayrton Azzopardi struck the decisive goal ten minutes from time to clinch victory for Qormi.

In the other encounter, San Ġwann claimed a narrow 1–0 success against Mellieħa, courtesy of a first-half penalty converted by Gonzalo Nicolas Virano five minutes before the interval.

Following these results, Attard and Mqabba remain joint leaders with 15 points. San Ġwann follow on 13 points, with Qormi close behind on 12. Victoria Hotspurs and Mellieħa are level on 10 points, ahead of Qrendi (9), Pembroke (8), Kirkop United and Żejtun (7), Lija (5), and Xgħajra, Senglea Athletic and Luqa St. Andrew’s, all on four points.
