Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal’s consistent performances should convince his players that they are capable of achieving something historic this season, with the club still competing for four major trophies.

The Gunners, who have finished runners-up in the Premier League for the past three seasons, hold a six-point lead at the top of the table and are unbeaten in their last 10 matches across all competitions.

Arsenal are also perfect in the Champions League, topping their group with six wins from six games. They have reached the fourth round of the FA Cup and secured a 3-2 away victory over Chelsea in the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

“We are building very good momentum, and belief comes from performances and the level of consistency we have shown across 32 games this season,” Arteta said ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest.

“What we did the other day at Stamford Bridge should really convince us that we have the ability to do that. But the reality is you have to show it in every game. There is still so much to happen, but we’re happy to still be alive in all four competitions.”

Arsenal drew with champions Liverpool in their last league outing, and Arteta warned against underestimating Nottingham Forest, who sit 17th in the table but have improved since appointing Sean Dyche as manager in October.

“He’s a top coach and very good at what he does,” Arteta said. “You can see his fingerprints straight away—the way they play, the results they’ve had against big teams, and how difficult they make matches.

“With Sean, they are different. They’re very efficient, have a clear identity, and that’s what makes them dangerous.”
