Premier League leaders Arsenal required a 94th-minute winner to edge past bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers, securing a 2–1 victory and extending their winning streak against the club to nine consecutive matches.

As anticipated, the Gunners dominated from the outset. Bukayo Saka delivered an early cross that Jurrien Timber headed over, while Arsenal patiently probed Wolves’ defence. The visitors, determined to frustrate, committed fully in challenges, including Joao Gomes taking a boot to the face from Eberechi Eze.

Declan Rice missed a header from another Saka delivery, as Arsenal continued to favour attacks down the right flank. Despite Arsenal’s dominance, Wolves had the first shot on target in the 27th minute when Hwang Hee-Chan broke free from the defenders, only to see his strike comfortably saved by David Raya. Shortly after, Mikel Arteta’s side suffered another setback with Ben White forced off through injury.

Arsenal pressed on, with Jorgen Strand Larsen blocking Saka’s attempt before Gabriel Martinelli fired two efforts wide and saw another deflected behind. Frustration grew at the Emirates as half-time approached, with Piero Hincapie required to block Strand Larsen in stoppage time.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Myles Lewis-Skelly’s attempt was cleared, and Arsenal fans expressed their impatience whenever Wolves delayed play. Martinelli produced a rare breakthrough down the wing but curled his shot wide before being substituted in a triple change around the hour mark.

Wolves continued to threaten sporadically: Viktor Gyokeres flicked a header wide, Emmanuel Agbadou blocked Mikel Merino’s effort, and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone made two excellent saves to deny Rice in quick succession. Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock when Saka’s corner bounced off Johnstone’s back and into the net.

Despite Martin Odegaard, Gyokeres, and Leandro Trossard missing chances to extend the lead, Wolves struck a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser. Mateus Mane delivered a cross that Tolu Arokodare headed past Raya, sending the away supporters into celebration.

Arsenal, however, snatched victory in the dying moments. Yerson Mosquera inadvertently headed Saka’s cross into his own net, confirming Wolves’ 10th consecutive defeat. The win helps Arsenal recover from their recent disappointment against Aston Villa and maintains momentum with back-to-back victories across all competitions.
