Jack Doohan has parted ways with Alpine after being released from his role as reserve driver for the 2026 Formula One season.

Doohan, 22, began last season in a race seat alongside Frenchman Pierre Gasly but was replaced after six races by Argentine Franco Colapinto. The son of five-time motorcycle world champion Mick Doohan had continued with the team as a reserve driver following his demotion.

“BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms it has reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 World Championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities,” Alpine said in a statement.

“The team would like to thank Jack for his commitment and professionalism over the past four years, both on and off the track, and wishes him all the best for the future.”

Colapinto, also 22, failed to score a point in 18 races last season—the only driver besides Doohan to finish the year without points—but has been confirmed alongside Gasly for the 2026 season.
