AGF could chase Champions League qualification at their rivals’ stadium

Superliga leaders AGF have confirmed that, should they qualify for European competition, they will host their home matches at Cepheus Park in Randers.
AGF are enjoying a historic season that could see them claim their first Danish league title in 40 years, which would also secure a place in European club competitions.
However, there is an issue regarding their current home venue. While their new stadium project, Kongelunden, is under construction, the team is temporarily playing in Vejlby. Unfortunately, that ground does not meet UEFA’s requirements for European fixtures.
As a result, AGF have reached an agreement with Randers FC to use Cepheus Park for their European home matches, as the Randers-based club already plays its home games there.
Under the arrangement, AGF will rent the facilities in Randers for any European fixtures.
“We are pleased that Randers will make their stadium available to us, even though it will naturally come at a financial cost that we cannot play at our own ground in potential European matches,” said AGF director Jacob Nielsen.
He added that the club had consulted with multiple stadium options and also taken supporters’ views into account before reaching the decision.
