Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers held on for a thrilling 29-24 road victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, putting Detroit’s playoff hopes in jeopardy and securing postseason berths for two other NFL teams.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff appeared to deliver two game-winning touchdowns in the final moments, only for both to be nullified by offensive pass interference calls, sparking chaos at Ford Field.

“Crazy game…so happy to get a win,” Rodgers said, describing the closing moments as “chaos.”

The victory guarantees the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers spots in the playoffs, while the Steelers move closer to securing their own postseason place. Pittsburgh now sits two wins ahead of divisional rivals Baltimore, who play later Sunday against New England.

“I’m going to enjoy this one, and we’re going to turn on the Sunday night game and root for the Patriots,” Rodgers added.

A largely uneventful first half was overshadowed by an incident involving Pittsburgh receiver DK Metcalf, who appeared to punch a Lions fan while reaching into the stands. The fan was unharmed, but Metcalf could face disciplinary action.

The Steelers took the lead in the third quarter with a two-point safety after sacking Goff in his own end zone and never gave it up. Running back Kenneth Gainwell made one of the season’s most spectacular catches, snaring the ball with one hand while horizontal on the ground before sprinting into the end zone.

Late in the game, Steelers kicker Chris Boswell missed a 37-yard field goal that could have sealed the win. Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown catch and Goff’s rush across the goal line were both overturned after lengthy discussions, leaving the Lions short of a comeback.

Jaguars End Broncos’ Streak
Elsewhere, the Jacksonville Jaguars snapped the Denver Broncos’ 11-game winning streak with a 34-20 victory, handing Denver their first home loss of the season. The win marked Jacksonville’s sixth consecutive triumph, improving their record to 11-4.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, asked if the Jaguars would finally earn respect, joked: “Honestly, I hope not. Everybody out there, just keep it up – it’s great.”

Other Key Results
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell 23-20 on the road to the Carolina Panthers in a pivotal NFC South clash, allowing Carolina to overtake them in the division. The loss continues Tampa Bay’s struggles, with just one win in their last seven games.

Meanwhile, Kansas City, already eliminated from the playoffs, suffered a 26-9 defeat to the struggling Tennessee Titans in Nashville. The Chiefs were hit by a potential ACL injury to backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, compounding the absence of starter Patrick Mahomes, who suffered the same injury last week.
