Andreas Christensen faces World Cup doubt following serious injury

Danish defender Andreas Christensen will be sidelined for an extended period after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury during training. The setback could also prevent him from participating in the World Cup if Denmark qualifies.
Christensen, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, has unfortunately added another chapter to his injury-plagued career.
“AC has been injured in training, and scans have revealed a partial tear of the cruciate ligament,” FC Barcelona confirmed on their official website.
The club reported that Christensen twisted his knee during Saturday’s training session. Initially, he will not undergo surgery, as the club has opted for a conservative treatment approach.
This approach means Christensen is expected to be out for several months, which will rule him out of crucial upcoming matches for Denmark in their World Cup playoff qualification campaign.
