Novak Djokovic will begin his quest for an 11th Australian Open title and a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam crown at the Adelaide International, tournament organisers confirmed on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old Serbian, currently ranked world number four, has a strong history in Adelaide, having lifted the trophy on both of his previous appearances in 2007 and 2023. He will return to the city for the ATP-WTA event, which runs from January 12 to 17, serving as his final warm-up ahead of the season’s first Grand Slam at Melbourne Park, starting on January 18.

Djokovic claimed his most recent major title in 2023 and has since reduced his tournament schedule, though he has still enjoyed success this year with title victories in Geneva and Athens.

The men’s field in Adelaide is set to be highly competitive, with Jack Draper, Joao Fonseca, Tommy Paul and Stefanos Tsitsipas also confirmed to compete.

On the women’s side, defending Australian Open champion Madison Keys will headline the draw, joined by fellow top-10 players Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva and Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Tournament director Alicia Molik said the event continues to grow in stature on the global stage.

“The 2026 edition of the Adelaide International will showcase the tournament’s continued growth and prestige on the global tennis calendar, attracting world-class talent from both the WTA and ATP tours,” Molik said.
