Mohamed Salah omitted from Liverpool squad once more ahead of Brighton clash
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been left out of Arne Slot’s starting lineup for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield.
The omission follows a turbulent week in which Salah accused the club of throwing him “under the bus” and suggested his relationship with Slot had broken down. The Egyptian forward was also left out of the squad for Liverpool’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Inter Milan on Tuesday.
Salah’s public criticism came after last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Leeds United, marking the third consecutive match in which Slot chose to bench the league’s top scorer from last season.
Despite the tension, Slot and Salah reportedly held constructive talks on Friday. The Dutch manager told reporters he had “no reasons to not want him to stay,” indicating a willingness to resolve the dispute ahead of the Brighton game.
