Chelsea will have Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana available for Saturday’s Premier League home clash with Everton, but Liam Delap is expected to miss two to four weeks with a shoulder injury, manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday.

The London club are still searching for their first league win since last month’s trip to Burnley and are looking to respond after a midweek Champions League defeat to Atalanta, during which centre-back Fofana was forced off with an eye issue.

Palmer, who recently returned from a six-week spell out with groin problems and a broken toe, did not travel to Italy as Chelsea opted to manage his workload during his recovery.

“(Palmer) is okay. He’s better. At the moment he’s available… yesterday he finished the session with mixed feelings, but overall he’s fine,” Maresca said.
“Wesley is fine as well. He completed the session yesterday.”

However, striker Delap—injured in last weekend’s goalless draw at Bournemouth—will remain sidelined.

“It can be two, three or four weeks,” Maresca added. “We don’t know exactly how long he’ll need.”

Chelsea, now winless in four matches, are struggling to rediscover the momentum that saw them win nine of 11 games across all competitions between late September and November, a run that included a 3–0 victory over Barcelona.

Maresca said the next challenge for his side is finding consistency as they sit fifth in the Premier League table.

“How do we do that? It’s just one week; it’s not a long time. But for sure, when something happens, in the next game you’re more prepared and can avoid it,” he explained.
“In terms of human beings, it’s impossible to be at the same level for the whole season, but we need to learn things for the future.”
