Juventus strengthened their prospects of advancing from the UEFA Champions League (UCL) league phase with a hard-earned 2–0 victory over Pafos at the Allianz Stadium. Despite the scoreline, the Bianconeri were pushed to their limits by a fearless and energetic visiting side.

Pafos set the tone early with an unexpectedly fast start. Anderson Silva nearly stunned the home crowd when his inventive back-heel from close range trickled narrowly wide, and moments later Michele Di Gregorio was forced into a sharp reflex save to prevent Andrea Cambiaso from turning the ball into his own net.

Those warnings jolted Juventus into action. Kenan Yıldız tested Neofytos Michail with a low drive inside the area, and Teun Koopmeiners should have opened the scoring in the 10th minute but headed a clear chance off target.

Even so, the Cypriot champions refused to be overwhelmed and continued to trouble Juventus on the counter. Just after the half-hour, Silva rattled the bar with a powerful strike, while Vlad Dragomir’s audacious long-range volley drew a superb fingertip stop from Di Gregorio.

Juventus nearly went ahead before the break when Jonathan David found himself with the goal at his mercy but somehow dragged his effort wide. A goalless first half felt inexplicable given the chances at both ends, and the visitors’ bold approach clearly unsettled their illustrious opponents.

At half-time, Luciano Spalletti introduced Francisco Conceição, who almost made an immediate impact around the hour mark, only to see his close-range strike palmed away smartly by Michail.

The breakthrough finally arrived midway through the second half. Cambiaso clipped a perfectly placed pass into the path of Weston McKennie, who rifled a stunning shot into the top corner to give Juventus a long-awaited lead.

Six minutes later, the hosts sealed the contest. Yıldız released David with a precise pass on the counter, and the Canadian calmly slotted past Michail to claim his second UCL goal of the campaign.

The win lifts Spalletti’s side into the top 20 of the league phase and marks their second consecutive Champions League victory ahead of a home clash with SL Benfica. Pafos, despite the defeat, can draw confidence from an impressive display and remain firmly in contention for progression, sitting just one point behind the qualification spots with two matches left to play.
