NFL to make Munich return in 2026 and 2028 after two-year gap

The NFL will stage two regular-season games in Munich in 2026 and 2028, reinforcing its long-term commitment to bringing annual league action to Germany.
The fixtures form part of a multi-year agreement between the NFL, Bayern Munich and the city of Munich, though the competing teams and exact dates are still to be confirmed.
Allianz Arena first welcomed an NFL game in 2022, marking the league’s debut in Germany. Frankfurt then hosted two matchups in 2023 before the action returned to Munich in 2024.
Berlin entered the rotation in 2025, staging its first regular-season game at the historic Olympic Stadium, and will also host clashes in 2027 and 2029.
Every NFL game held in Germany so far has sold out, underlining the sport’s booming popularity among German fans.
Beyond London — now a well-established international venue — the NFL has expanded its global footprint with games in Mexico, Spain and Ireland, with additional contests planned in Brazil and Australia.
The growing trend of major U.S. sports heading to Germany continues in January when Berlin will host the country’s first regular-season NBA game, featuring the Memphis Grizzlies and the Orlando Magic.
