Vitinha’s hat-trick powers PSG comeback in thrilling UCL win over Spurs

Vitinha’s first-ever career hat-trick propelled Paris Saint-Germain to a thrilling 5-3 UEFA Champions League victory over Tottenham Hotspur, halting Spurs’ unbeaten run in the group stage.
Tottenham, reeling from a heavy defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday, arrived at the Parc des Princes hoping to unsettle Luis Enrique’s side, just as they had in August’s narrow Super Cup loss. PSG, meanwhile, were determined to bounce back after a defeat to Bayern Munich in Matchday 4 and began the contest brightly, with long-range efforts from Fabian Ruiz and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia testing Guglielmo Vicario.
The visitors, however, struck first. In the 35th minute, Richarlison finished off a slick move, connecting with a cross from Archie Gray, headed back across goal by PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani, to give Spurs a deserved lead.
PSG responded before halftime, with Quentin Ndjantou setting up Vitinha to unleash a powerful right-footed strike, leveling the scores heading into the break.
The game exploded early in the second half when Kolo Muani scored against his parent club, finishing from Willian Pacho’s deflected header off Pedro Porro’s corner. But PSG quickly turned the match around, scoring twice in seven minutes. Vitinha curled in his second goal of the night before Fabian Ruiz added a third after capitalizing on a Tottenham defensive error by Pape Matar Sarr.
Tottenham’s defensive frailties continued as they failed to clear a Lee Kang-in corner, allowing Pacho to score PSG’s fourth, marking the second consecutive match in which Spurs conceded four goals. Kolo Muani then grabbed his second to make it 4-3, but Vitinha sealed his hat-trick from the penalty spot following a handball by Romero, completing a stunning comeback for the hosts.
It was a night to forget for Tottenham, who have now conceded 11 goals in their last three matches across all competitions, highlighting their defensive struggles against Europe’s elite. PSG, by contrast, extended their fine form in the Champions League with seven wins in their last eight fixtures, although Lucas Hernandez was shown a straight red card in stoppage time for elbowing Xavi Simons, leaving the Parisians to finish the match with ten men.
