Thomas Frank tips Tottenham to deliver a strong response against PSG

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank remains confident his side can recover quickly from their weekend setback as they prepare for Wednesday’s challenging Champions League trip to Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to reporters in Paris, Frank did not shy away from the disappointment of Sunday’s 4–1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby.
“I’ve rewatched the match and it simply wasn’t good enough. Our performance was poor,” he admitted. “The intent was there, but we couldn’t execute, and the most frustrating part was our inability to compete.”
Despite the daunting task of facing one of Europe’s strongest teams away from home, Frank believes Spurs are ready for the test.
“It’s a big challenge, but exactly the kind we are fully prepared for,” he said. “I’m convinced we’ll respond with a strong performance.”
Spurs, beaten by PSG on penalties in August’s UEFA Super Cup, have shown flashes of quality but remain inconsistent this season. Still, they sit in a promising position midway through the league phase of the Champions League, unbeaten in four matches and placed 10th in the 36-team standings with eight points — one fewer than defending champions PSG.
Their 4–0 win over FC Copenhagen in their last European match is their only victory in their past five games in all competitions. With just three wins in 11 outings since late September — a run that also includes a derby defeat to Chelsea — pressure has begun to build on Frank.
“Taking this job meant embracing these kinds of challenges,” he said. “Of course, I’d rather be here after beating Arsenal, but setbacks are part of the journey. I know how to build a team, and we’ll continue learning, especially from the difficult periods.”
Meanwhile, French forward Randal Kolo Muani — on loan from PSG — is hoping to make an impression against his parent club as he continues to chase his first goal for Tottenham.
“Kolo was thrilled to come here and we were delighted to bring him in,” Frank explained. “But he picked up a dead leg, then a broken jaw, and he arrived without full fitness, so he’s been playing catch-up. I’m confident we’ll see more and more from him as he progresses.”
