Roderick Abela Triumphs in National Boċċi Singles Competition
Roderick Abela claimed victory in the Federation Klabbs tal-Boċċi Singles Competition, defeating Joseph Tabone 21–13 in a thrilling final held at the Għaxaq pitch.
The match began with Abela in dominant form, racing to a 13–2 lead. However, Tabone showed great resilience, narrowing the gap to 15–13 as the contest intensified.
Despite the late pressure, Abela — representing Żurrieq Boċċi Club — maintained his composure and precision in the closing stages, sealing the win with a series of accurate final throws.
This year’s competition saw a record participation of 114 players, with matches played over several months, highlighting the sport’s enduring popularity and competitive spirit.
