Sliema Wanderers staged an impressive comeback to claim a 3–2 victory over Hibernians at the Centenary Stadium, sealing their place in the Top Six with one game remaining.

It was a crucial win for the Blues, who moved up to fourth place on 18 points, just one behind Ħamrun Spartans and four adrift of leaders Valletta and Floriana.

For Hibernians, however, the defeat leaves their Top Six hopes hanging in the balance. The Paolites sit sixth on 14 points and must now beat Marsaxlokk in their final fixture while hoping for a favourable result between Birkirkara and Ħamrun Spartans.

Hibernians started the brighter of the two sides and went ahead after 19 minutes through Mailson Lima. But Sliema turned the game on its head before half-time, as Miguel Baggio equalised on 31 minutes and Sulahmana Bah struck two minutes later to make it 2–1.

Bah added his second six minutes from time to extend Sliema’s lead and effectively seal the points. Hibs substitute Lyon Abela pulled one back late on, but it proved only a consolation as Sliema held firm to secure the win.
