The Malta Racing Club is proud to announce that Dylan Baldacchino will represent Malta in the upcoming European Championship for Gentleman Drivers 2025, organised under the auspices of the European Trotting Amateur-Drivers Federation (FEGAT).

This year’s prestigious championship will take place on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at the historic La Favorita Racetrack in Palermo, Sicily. The event will bring together leading amateur drivers from across Europe for a thrilling day of competition featuring four championship races. Baldacchino will compete in races four through seven on the programme.

At 33 years of age, Dylan Baldacchino has earned a reputation as one of Malta’s most consistent and respected drivers. Since obtaining his racing licence from the Malta Racing Club in 2010, he has made over 900 official starts, claiming 54 career victories. His impressive record also includes several international appearances, proudly carrying the Maltese silks on foreign tracks.

Malta’s participation in this championship continues the nation’s strong tradition of success at FEGAT events. In recent years, Maltese drivers have achieved notable results at international level:

  • Cliferty Calleja – World Champion (2022)
  • Jesmar Gafa – 5th place, European Championship (2023)
  • Clint Vassallo – 3rd place, European Championship (2024)

The 2025 European Championship for Gentleman Drivers will feature competitors from thirteen nations: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. The event stands as a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and excellence, promoting the enduring tradition and artistry of trotting sport across Europe.
