Thane Micallef named Best Coach for September
Valletta FC’s head coach Thane Micallef has been named Malta Premier Best Coach for September, following an impressive run of results that saw his team remain unbeaten throughout the month.
September was a packed period in the Premier League calendar, with matches played almost every three days. Micallef’s side delivered consistent performances, claiming four victories and one draw during this demanding spell.
Valletta opened the month with a 3–1 win over Marsaxlokk in Match-Week 3, followed by a 2–0 derby triumph against Floriana. A late equaliser earned a 1–1 draw with Sliema Wanderers, before two spirited comeback wins against Mosta (4–1) and Tarxien Rainbows (2–1) capped off their perfect September record.
Heading into October, Valletta remain the only unbeaten team in the division, a testament to the team’s resilience and tactical discipline under Micallef’s guidance.
