The GFA BOV Gozo Football League 2nd Division kicked off with an exciting opening matchday at the Kercem Stadium on Saturday, 10 October 2025, as Sannat Lions and St Lawrence Spurs both secured important victories.

In the first match of the day, Sannat Lions edged Zebbug Rovers 2–1 in a lively encounter. Serbian forward Igor Nedeljkovic proved decisive, striking twice early on — in the 7th and 19th minutes — to give Sannat a strong advantage going into the break.

Zebbug pushed hard to get back into the game and were rewarded in the 85th minute when Jake Sacco pulled one back. Tensions rose late on, and Sannat were reduced to ten men deep into stoppage time as Sam Frank Bajada was shown a straight red card. Despite the late drama, Sannat held firm to collect all three points.

Later in the day, St Lawrence Spurs began their campaign with a narrow 1–0 win over Oratory Youths. The match was evenly balanced for long stretches, but Gabriel Debrincat broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, securing the victory for the Spurs.

With these results, St Lawrence Spurs sit at the top of the early standings with four points, followed closely by Gharb Rangers and Sannat Lions, both on three points. Zebbug Rovers and Oratory Youths remain searching for their first points of the season.
