Matchday 4 delivers goals, drama, and shifting momentum at the Gozo Stadium

Matchday 4 of the GFA BOV Gozo Football League 1st Division featured another exciting weekend of football, as Ghajnsielem FC, Xewkija Tigers FC, and Nadur Youngsters FC all secured valuable victories to keep their title ambitions on track.

Ghajnsielem FC 4–1 SK Victoria Wanderers FC

Ghajnsielem FC continued their unbeaten run with an emphatic 4–1 win over SK Victoria Wanderers.
Jhon Alejandro Gonzales Castillo stole the show with a brilliant hat-trick (15’, 57’, 70’), while Deison Arvey Cuero also found the net in the first half (39’).
SK Victoria Wanderers managed a consolation goal through Caique Silvio Souza Da Silva on 59 minutes.

This result keeps Ghajnsielem just one point behind league leaders Xewkija Tigers, with a game in hand.

Xewkija Tigers FC 5–1 Xaghra United FC

League leaders Xewkija Tigers FC maintained their strong start with a commanding 5–1 victory over Xaghra United.
Brian Alejandro Parada opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the third minute, before Claudio Daniel Frances made it 2–0.
Lucas Farrugia briefly gave Xaghra hope, but Xewkija pulled away in the second half through goals from Angel Manuel Bustos (51’), Denzil Bugeja (71’), and Julian Farrugia (78’).

Xewkija remain unbeaten and top the table with 10 points from four matches.

Nadur Youngsters FC 1–0 Qala Saints FC

Nadur Youngsters FC earned a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Qala Saints FC thanks to a stoppage-time penalty converted by Diego Fernando Rodriguez Angulo.
The match saw two red cards — Nathan Chukwudi Njoku (Qala Saints) in the 52nd minute and Joseph Xerri (Nadur) in the 73rd — before Nadur sealed the win deep into added time.

The result lifts Nadur to mid-table as they look to build momentum after a slow start.
