Maltese golfer Ruud Critien was crowned champion of the Laferla Club Championships, which were held over the weekend at the Royal Malta Golf Club.

Critien made a strong start to the tournament with an opening gross round of 68 and continued to extend his lead throughout the competition. He capped off his performance with an excellent final round of 65, four under par, to finish with a three-round total of 202. This was enough to secure victory ahead of Andrew Borg, who finished second on 211, while JJ Micallef placed third with a score of 212.

Meanwhile, in the Centenary Plate competition, Mika Kujapelto emerged victorious with a net total of 195 over three rounds. His winning performance included rounds of 67, 64 and 64. He finished ahead of Leslie White, who recorded a total of 199, while Martin Azzopardi and Demis Tonna shared third place on 200.

The championships once again provided a high standard of competition, with several golfers producing strong performances throughout the event.
