What Tottenham need on final day to avoid Premier League relegation

Tottenham Hotspur face a crucial fixture against Everton FC this weekend as they continue their fight against relegation alongside West Ham United.
Spurs have struggled badly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, collecting just 12 points on home soil — the joint-lowest tally in the league alongside Burnley FC — as they prepare for the visit of Everton to North London.
There is, however, a potential boost for Spurs with the possible return of Dominic Solanke, as the striker looks to provide much-needed attacking threat and help unlock Everton’s defence.
Everton, meanwhile, arrive having struggled defensively on their travels, conceding at least twice in each of their last five away matches, which could open the door for Spurs to capitalise if Solanke features prominently.
As the relegation battle reaches the final day, Tottenham Hotspur remain in control of their own destiny. A two-point cushion and superior goal difference over West Ham United means a draw would be enough to secure survival.
However, anything less combined with a West Ham win over Leeds United would see Spurs drop into the Championship in a devastating outcome.
There is also encouragement from recent history against Everton FC, who have lost each of their last four away matches at Tottenham by an aggregate score of 13-1. With that in mind, Spurs head into the decisive fixture knowing a single point could be enough to preserve their Premier League status.
