Djed Spence injury blow for Tottenham after brutal collision with Delap
Tottenham defender Djed Spence is understood to have suffered a broken jaw during his side’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday (May 19).
The 25-year-old was caught by a high elbow from Liam Delap as both players contested an aerial challenge in the closing stages of the match.
According to The Athletic, medical assessments have confirmed that Spence sustained a fractured jaw as a result of the incident.
Delap was booked at the time, while VAR opted not to intervene, a decision that left Spence frustrated. He later expressed his disappointment on social media.
Tottenham’s Premier League survival will be decided on the final day as they prepare to host Everton in North London.
