Birkirkara to enter Women’s Futsal League next season

Birkirkara FC will take part in the women’s futsal league starting from next season.
Following recent successes in the local women’s football scene, Birkirkara will be embarking on a new project as they expand their sporting structure to include participation in the domestic women’s futsal championship.
A press conference was held last Friday, addressed by committee member Christian Camilleri, team manager Robert Teuma, as well as coaches Sinclair Galea and Maria Coppola.
Camilleri explained that discussions with Teuma began a few months ago, and once the proposal was presented, it was immediately accepted. He stated that this will be the first time the club will be represented in women’s futsal and expressed his excitement ahead of the launch of the project.
Team manager Robert Teuma said that after three years of building a united group, the opportunity to now represent Birkirkara is a source of great pride. He added that the club has already started preparations and will also be competing in the beach soccer league.
Coaches Sinclair Galea and Maria Coppola also spoke during the conference, stating that they will be working in close synergy in order to help the team achieve positive results as they begin their campaign in both competitions.
