Hibernians produced a remarkable comeback from 18 points down to defeat Starlites Revive 88–83 and force a decisive Game 5 in the BOV Division One playoff finals at the Ta’ Qali Pavilion.

Trailing 2–1 in the best-of-five series heading into Game Four, Hibernians refused to bow out, turning the game on its head with a dominant fourth quarter to level the series at 2–2.

Matthew Gouder led the charge for the Paolites with a game-high 25 points, most of them coming after the break. Ayomide Ajiboye added 16, while Neil Cassar and Deonte Jackson chipped in with 12 each. Ivan Demcesen contributed 10 crucial points, including late free throws to seal the win.

For Starlites, Musa Jallow and Travis Fee both scored 16 points, while Jackson Threadgill and Ian Felice Pace added 14 each. Alec Felice Pace finished with 12.

The match began evenly, with both sides trading baskets in a competitive opening quarter that saw Hibernians edge ahead by three points. However, the momentum shifted in the second period as Starlites took control. A strong offensive spell, highlighted by key contributions from Ian Felice Pace and Threadgill, helped them open up a 53–43 lead at halftime.

Starlites extended their advantage early in the third quarter, building an 18-point cushion and seemingly putting one hand on the title. But Hibernians began to claw their way back, with Gouder leading the resurgence through a series of three-pointers that reduced the deficit heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter belonged entirely to Hibernians. Gouder and Ajiboye sparked the rally, while Jackson delivered a crucial basket to swing the lead in their favour. With Starlites struggling to respond, Demcesen held his nerve from the free-throw line to complete the comeback.

Hibernians’ resilience ensured their season lives on, with the championship now set to be decided in a winner-takes-all Game 5.
