Valletta St Paul’s missed the opportunity to close in on league leaders Għaxaq Wolves in the MAFA First Division after suffering a 1–0 defeat against Senglea Gunners in their 13th outing of the season.

A goal from Christopher Philip Balotelli in the 21st minute proved decisive, securing all three points for Senglea Gunners. The Senglea side were determined to return to winning ways after dropping valuable points in recent matches that had hindered their title challenge. They now sit four points behind leaders Għaxaq Wolves, although they have a game in hand. The match was officiated by Karl Stefan Galea.


Balluta Barracudas 3–4 Marsa St Michael

Marsa St Michael edged Balluta Barracudas in a seven-goal thriller, winning 4–3 in an entertaining contest marked by defensive errors on both sides.

Marsa took the lead in the 14th minute through Lamin Saho, with João Marcelo Coutinho doubling the advantage two minutes later. Balluta reduced the deficit in the second half through Gabriel Echanove, but Marcelo completed his brace to make it 3–1.

The match remained open as Paco Vassallo pulled one back for Balluta, while Nikola Nesković restored Marsa’s two-goal cushion in the 65th minute. Echanove later scored his second, but it was not enough as Marsa held on for a 4–3 win.

The result sees Marsa St Michael move up to third place with 43 points. The match was refereed by Carmel Vassallo.


San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy 1–2 Valletta Stars St Dominic

San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy are on the brink of relegation after a 2–1 defeat to Valletta Stars St Dominic.

The Valletta side took control early, with goals from Klajdi Qose in the 9th minute and Isah Mustapha Abdullha in the 16th minute giving them a two-goal lead at half-time.

San Ġwann reduced the deficit late in the match through Seni Barlam, but the goal came too late to change the outcome. The referee was Ray Tabone.

Birżebbuġa St Peter’s AFC 1–0 Gudja Wanderers

Birżebbuġa St Peter’s AFC moved closer to winning the second phase of the Second Division after maintaining a perfect record from five matches, defeating Gudja Wanderers 1–0.

The only goal of the match came from top scorer Oussama Boutayeb, who scored with an excellent free-kick. The match was officiated by Alex Grech.

Naxxar Victorians 2–3 Mqabba Albions

Mqabba Albions recorded their first win of the second phase with a 3–2 victory over Naxxar Victorians. Hajy Semu Maher was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick for Mqabba. Liam Sciberras and Alex Dormor scored for Naxxar.

Ta’ Giorni Wanderers 0–2 Ħamrun Sporting (walkover recorded as 3–0)

Ħamrun Sporting were awarded a walkover victory against Ta’ Giorni Wanderers.
