MFPA Go Top after dominant victory

The Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) returned to the top of the Malta Veterans Premier League standings following a commanding 11–5 victory over Rabat in the only match played at St Dorothy’s Ground in Żebbuġ.
MFPA approached the encounter with clear determination, knowing that securing all three points would see them overtake rivals Floriana ahead of their crucial title clash later this month. Their intent was evident from the outset as they produced a dominant attacking performance.
Top league scorer Stanimir Miloskovic once again led by example, netting four goals. He was matched by Mark Zammit, who also struck four times in an impressive display in front of goal. Further contributions from Manuel Sevasta, George Frendo and Alexander Ribic completed an emphatic win for MFPA.
Rabat responded with some resistance, as Adam Smeir scored twice, while Adam Wingfield, Mark Spiteri and Dylan Falzon each added a goal to reduce the deficit.
The match was officiated by referee Lorry Sammut.
The result sees MFPA move to the top of the table, setting up a decisive encounter with Floriana that could have a major bearing on the destination of the league title.
