Munxar Falcons FC produced a stunning late comeback to secure a 2–1 victory over Zebbug Rovers FC in Matchday 15 of the GFA BOV Gozo Football League 2nd Division.

Zebbug looked set to claim all three points after taking the lead in the 27th minute through Bernard Camilleri, who found the net to give his side a deserved advantage heading into the latter stages of the match.

Despite trailing for much of the encounter, Munxar continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when Ayesller Carvalho struck to bring the Falcons level and set up a dramatic finale.

Just five minutes later, Carvalho delivered once again, scoring his second of the match in the 90th minute to complete a remarkable turnaround and hand Munxar a vital victory.

Sannat Lions FC continue to lead the table with 34 points from 15 matches, maintaining their strong position at the top. St Lawrence Spurs FC remain second on 28 points, followed by Gharb Rangers FC with 24.

Zebbug Rovers FC stay in fourth place with 22 points after this defeat, while Munxar Falcons FC move up to 9 points, narrowing the gap at the bottom. Oratory Youths FC remain in last place with 7 points.

The result provides a significant boost for Munxar Falcons as they aim to build momentum in the closing stages of the season, while Zebbug Rovers will be left to reflect on a missed opportunity after conceding twice in the final minutes.
