Following a recent press conference, the official play-off line-ups for both the men’s and women’s national basketball leagues have been confirmed, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the season.

In the BOV National Men’s League, Starlites Revive have emerged as the clear front-runners after an exceptional regular season, finishing with a flawless 15–0 record to secure the top seed. Hibernians followed in second place with a strong 12–3 record, while The Plaza Depiro and Luxol Sherries Estates claimed the remaining play-off spots in third and fourth respectively. Athleta AtoZ and Valletta Dream narrowly missed out, finishing fifth and sixth.

The men’s play-off semi-final match-ups will see Starlites Revive face Luxol Sherries Estates, while Hibernians take on The Plaza Depiro. Although Starlites are widely regarded as the favourites, the unpredictability of the play-offs means that no outcome can be taken for granted.

Meanwhile, the MAPFRE MSV Life Women’s League promises a far more balanced contest. Hibernians secured top spot with a 13–2 record, closely followed by Caffe Moak Luxol in second. Betsson Depiro finished third, while Starlites Revive clinched the final play-off position in fourth. Athleta and Valletta Dream ended their campaigns outside the play-off zone.

The women’s semi-finals will feature Hibernians against Starlites Revive, while Caffe Moak Luxol will meet Betsson Depiro. Despite injury setbacks affecting several teams, the competition appears significantly more evenly matched than last season, when Depiro dominated proceedings.

Across both leagues, all qualifying clubs are showing strong determination ahead of the play-offs. Notably, a number of young players have been making a meaningful impact, bringing energy and promise to their respective squads.

With everything to play for, fans can expect a thrilling series of encounters as teams battle for championship glory.

Meanwhile Luxol have successfully retained their Louis Borg U23 Women’s League title, capping off a remarkable campaign with a 2–0 series victory over Starlites in the finals.

The champions delivered a composed and commanding performance throughout the series, leaving little doubt about their superiority as they sealed the title in straight games. Their triumph not only secures back-to-back championships but also completes an outstanding unbeaten season — a testament to their consistency, discipline, and quality across the squad.

Starlites, who reached the finals with determination and strong performances of their own, were unable to overcome a well-drilled Luxol side that maintained control in key moments of both games.

Luxol’s success highlights the growing strength of youth development within the club, with several promising players stepping up and playing pivotal roles throughout the season.

Congratulations go to Luxol on an exceptional achievement and a flawless season, setting a high standard for future competitions in the U23 Women’s League.
